Vascular Medical Assistant will work under the direction of the Divisional Administrator and the Access Center Manager. The Medical Assistant role entails serving as a liaison between the patient, family, and medical health care team during the outpatient visit.
Responsibilities
Perform all clinical duties as requested by the provider, operational duties in coordinating patient flow throughout the space, and supporting the team with administrative functions and care of patients.
Use CROWN to keep track of patient arrivals and patient status.
Measures and documents the patient’s vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, and blood pressure), height and weight; reconciles medication list in the patient’s EMR in an accurate and complete manner while meeting all Meaningful Use measures.
Assist clinical team with patient and procedure room preparation and post-procedure clean-up, operating the C-Arm, scrub-in for procedures, clean and sterilize tools and equipment
Assist in scheduling patients for vascular access procedures and provide assistance in transporting patients within the center
Maintain sterile field during procedures and notify Intervention list of any break in sterile procedure which may compromise the procedure or patient safety
Qualifications
High School Graduate or Medical Assistant Diploma
Strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service and communication skills Must be able to successfully work independently
Ability to read, write and speak Spanish preferred
One year of related experience
