The LPN is responsible for assisting physicians by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. The LPN will also provide patient education and medication administration (including injections).
Tracks abnormal lab results to confirm that patient has had appropriate follow up as ordered by the physician in the patients plan of care.
Triage all calls and advise appropriate clinicians.
Assists in improving and maintaining the existing laboratory and pathology tracking system.
Maintains precise records of all specimens obtained and sent for testing.
Reviews all laboratory reports within 24 hours of their receipt.
Complete patient medical forms, such as, disability forms, refill authorizations, etc.
Notifies patients of results as determined by the physician either by confidential notification cards or telephone.
Provides physicians with results for routine review prior to scanning.
Assists patients requesting lab results and requisitions.
Functions as a team member and provide clinical assistance and care to patients during clinical sessions.
New York State Licensed Practical Nurse
1-2 years of OB/GYN experience preferred
Excellent organizational abilities and computer skills
