The Front Desk Secretary will perform scheduling/medical secretary work as follows:
Screen non-patient visitors and sales representatives. Organize and implement Front Desk systems to facilitate patient flow.
Answer and triage any phone calls; Greet all patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Arrive patients, obtain consents, verify insurance certification and referrals. Verify patient’s insurance using the MPV system and update.
Check-out patients utilizing the Check-Out Form ensuring all tasks, appointments etc. are completed.
Enter patient demographic and insurance information, including FSC numbers into IDX system
Perform front desk duties applicable to CROWN (ie. Scanning, insurance cards, photos, pharmacy information and patient portal). Assemble new patient charts according to established procedure and maintain patient EMR records in accordance with practice standards.
Collect patient payments and prepare Time of Service Log
Schedule patient appointments via IDX and confirm patient appointments.
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Medical terminology and minimum 1 year of clinical practice experience.
Must have excellent customer service skills in a high-pressure environment and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
Ability to work independently and takes initiative to improve overall office operations.
Knowledge of IDX billing and scheduling systems preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
