The Credentialed Medical Assistant is responsible for working interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to patients. The Medical Assistant is educated and trained to perform both clinical and administrative skills in the medical care environment.
Greet, Check-In patient, schedule appointments for office visits and procedures using IDX-Web; and review, verify and update demographic and insurance information, collect co-pay and payments at time of service; issue Patient Portal invitations. Coordinate and obtain financial authorization for radiology, laboratory, ambulatory procedures, medications and other services/procedures.
Scan insurance cards and outside records via CROWN (EMR) enter referring physicians and pharmacy information into patients record on CROWN ( EMR)
Responsible for obtaining authorization to release medical records, collecting payment, copying records and mailing to requesting patients or companies
Assists physicians with various procedures such as cystoscopies, and biopsies in an outpatient setting. Must be able to record vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and or families; answer calls and provides pertinent information
Record patient interview, history and chief complaint in CROWN (EMR). Provide patient education with regards to office policies
Request order entries within CROWN
Prepare patients for examinations and performing routine screening tests. Should be able to perform venipuncture and perform various lab tests
Provides set-up of examination room and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques established by hospital and infection control policies
Assists in the maintenance of medical charts (filing, Op Reports, test results, homecare forms)
HIPPA and Infection Control Departmental Training and CPR
High School Diploma, Credentialed Medical Assisting Certificate, AAMA Certification required.
