The Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant will be assigned to provide coverage for any of the faculty practice departments and locations at ColumbiaDoctors Tarrytown. Hours and days may be variable Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm and ocassional Saturdays.
Check patients using HealthGrid/IDX; accurately collecting, updating and verifying patient demographic and insurance information in IDX and/or patient's chart.
Collection of copayments/fees and posting of payments to IDX, daily reconciliation of the cash drawer.
Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and assist physicians in biopsies and minor procedures such as suture removal, staple removal, and wound care etc. as need (training provided, competency monitored).
Interviews patient, measures vital signs, height and weight, and records information into CROWN.
Collects, labels, and sends all specimens to proper areas of the hospital.
Maintains accurate records of office and physician locations including providing detailed information. Facilitates patient appointments and experience.
Accurately scanning information into CROWN (including but not limited to insurance card, referrals, registration forms, outside records, etc).
Scheduling follow up appointments with providers and other departments/facilities to help coordinate follow up care and diagnostic testing, providing patient with appointment card and all neccessary instructions to ensure a smoot follow up visit.
Ability to work flexible hours/days as well as rotating Saturdays
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical assistant certificate required
1-3 years of experience in an outpatient medical office environment
Possess knowledge of modern office equipment, systems and procedures
Ability to work independently and takes initiative to improve overall office operations
Excellent communication/customer service
Ability to adjust daily to different services and medical staff needs, process, and clinic flow
