Under the guidance of the Doctor or Departmental Administrator, perform confidential secretarial and general administrative work, assist and relieve the Doctor or Departmental Admin of administrative and office details
Responsibilities
Screen telephone calls and visitors, handle and re-direct inquires as appropriate
Greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, procedures, and/or surgeries
Obtain copies of patients' insurance cards and any referrals necessary to process insurance billing
Verify patient insurance coverage and pre-authorize insurance coverage for patients* procedures, diagnostic investigations, and surgeries
Collect co-payments and encounter forms, submit billing for office visits, procedures, and surgeries performed by doctor, m a timely fashion,
Prepare patient charts and files confidential medical records such as tests result; correspondence, etc.
Perform general secretarial duties (i e typing and/or word processing copying, collating, and sorting mail), schedule internal and external meetings, arranges travel accommodations and itineraries
Prepare drafts, narratives and other routine correspondence, inform Doctor or Manager of critical situations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency
2-3 years of medical prior experience
Knowledge of doctor's office procedures Proficient computer skills scheduling, Epic
Word, Power Point, and spreadsheet applications excellent organization,
interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill;
Must be flexible and able to work in a fast pace environment
