To provide secretarial/clerical support for multiple physicians and their team in a high volume specialty practice.
Use Experian for insurance verification, secure visit and ensure all referrals are linked in IDX and scanned into CROWN.
Provide new patients with the appropriate paperwork, scan insurance and all paperwork including linking and scanning referrals and any outside records to IDX and/or CROWN.
Collect copays, referrals, co-insurance and co-pay balance upon check-in/check-out.
Ensure patient demographics and pharmacy information are correct and updated for each visit. Invite patients to the patient portal, text program, obtain referring provider for each visit and update information as needed in CROWN.
Check-out patients which may include scheduling follow-up visits, specialist office visits or exams such as radiology, PFTs, ECHOs, EMGs, etc.
Prepare charts/ CROWN EMR for office hours, print patient face sheets, labels, etc.
High school graduate
Medical secretarial training/experience in a medical office/ambulatory setting
3-5 year experience in an outpatient medical office
CPT and ICD-10 code, experience using CROWN EMR
Strong computer skills, written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Detail oriented, well organized, superior customer service skills in a high volume patient environment.
