The Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist will be assigned to provide coverage for any of the faculty practice departments and locations as well as the main reception desk. This position will have flexible hours which may include Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7PM.
Responsible for managing a smooth clinic flow by assessing and anticipating MD schedule, ensuring any patient results or chart documents are available and assigning clinic space effectively
Ensures that the examination /consultation/treatment rooms are stocked with requisitions, forms, and medical supplies
Interviews patient, measures vital signs, height and weight, and records information in CROWN.
This position does perform CROWN order entry per CROWN CMA role.
Performs EKGs phlebotomy, urinalysis, rapid testing and assist physicians in biopsies and minor procedures such as suture removal, staple removal, and wound care, etc. as needed (training provided, competency monitored)
Schedules follow up appointments in IDX, provides patient with appointment card and all necessary instructions to ensure a smooth follow up visit
Maintains accurate records of office and physician locations including providing detailed information. Facilitates patient appointments and experience.
Ability to work flexible hours/days.
High School graduate or GED equivalent
Minimum 3 – 6 months of experience in an outpatient medical office environment
Credentialed and registered/ medical assistant, (CMA/RMA) required..
Knowledge of IDX preferred
Possess knowledge of modern medical office equipment, systems and procedures
Ability to work independently and takes initiative to improve overall office operations
Excellent communication/customer service
Ability to adjust daily to different services and medical staff needs, process, and clinic flow
