Provides training, supervision and direction to the Front Desk Reception Specialists on-site. Coordinates the day-to-day operations at the Eastchester/Westchester locations and provides for the most efficient and effective work flow for the front desk team.
Trains all Front Desk Reception Specialists on-site and continuously works as a role model, coach and leader for team
Ensures new staff are oriented to the team, department, hospital and university, and have all necessary access to computer programs, email, telephone and security systems as needed
Ensures that all teams members complete and/or attend all applicable training, which includes, but is not limited to ongoing Learning Academy modules, HIPAA compliance and billing compliance
Provides guidance and troubleshooting for the Front Desk Reception Specialists on-site
Plan, conduct, and oversee training programs and staff meetings.
Assists with the interim and annual performance reviews for each team member.
Coordinates the day-to-day operations and work flow of the front desk team.
Maintains and communicates the front desk schedule. Arranges for appropriate coverage during a vacations or unplanned absences.
Monitors activities associated with cash collections and ensures that the team collects 100% of self-pay payments and 95% of in-network payments. Maintains consistent communication with the Patient Experience Manager on collections performance and implements improvement strategies, as needed.
High school diploma and three to five years of relevant experience is required.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or a combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge and skills.
Knowledge and experience in medical practice management and/or operations;
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, administrators, staff and physicians, as well as various external departments;
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving and personnel skills;
Broad-based knowledge and skills related to the healthcare environment, third party insurance and reimbursement, and health services administration.
