This position is responsible for numerous administrative tasks focused on a variety of patient-facing duties.
Completes patient admissions and registration process by reviewing accounts and other compliance-related documents for completeness and accuracy. Obtains and documents missing information required for registration.
Inputs patient registration information in the computer system which may include gathering demographic information, inputting insurance information, and assigning guarantor accounts.
Schedules new and existing patient appointments and contacts patients for rescheduling, missed appointments and appointment reminders. Prepares paperwork for patient visits.
Notifies patients of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurances, and balances on accounts and collects payments, as appropriate. Reconciles cash against daily charge reports.
Monitors patient flow, adjusts workflows, and notifies the clinical staff of any pertinent information and changes.
Prepares regular reports regarding the number of inquiries, scheduled appointments, kept appointments, cancellations and no-shows and system of care issues requiring attention by the Medical & Lab Director and/or clinical team.
Available to all patients at all times to assist with any difficulties the patients may be encountering during movement through the treatment process. Including but not limited to: assistance with booking appointments, communication with clinical staff, connecting patients to Patient Services, etc.
High School Diploma or GED.
At least two (2) years working in a medical office preferred.
Excellent communication skills and possesses ability to work independently.
Computer experience essential.
At least one (1) year of Customer Service experience preferred.
