The Call Center Representative will be responsible for scheduling all non-surgical office appointments, responding to incoming phone calls from established patients and other external callers, and communicating with sites to ensure that patient phone call requests are resolved in a timely manner. This role is critical to creating a positive first impression for the practice.
Schedule appointments for following all practice sites including HIP, CHONY, Allen Hospital and Midtown. Call patients for appointment reminders.
Evaluate patient's needs and determine appropriate site and provider of care.
Enter, update, and complete patient demographic and financial information in IDX-Web.
Run insurance eligibility on all appointments and resolve problems with insurance verification team if results are negative
Inform patients of referral and/or financial responsibility and physicians requirements for visit (bring test results, x-rays etc) for visit.
Manage bump lists and communicate with patients when appointments are cancelled.
Print and distribute encounter forms for future appointments.
Assist team leader with physician IDX calendar changes, such as opening clinic days and closing days.
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1-2 years of related experience in a clinical setting.
Prior experience using IDX-Web and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of medical terminology.
