The following duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist physicians with patient treatments/procedures, department specific therapies, keeping current on latest treatments.
Prepare and label specimens with required clinical data; ensure timely delivery of specimens to appropriate designation.
Clean and maintain exam rooms and utility areas; set up patient rooms daily.
Maintain sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensure adequate supply of equipment is ready at all times for patient care.
Record patient vital signs in chart and inform/confirm with patient any of the physician recommendations.
Coordinate patient flow with the physician, biller and secretary to ensure a positive patient experience including escorting patients to another department if necessary.
Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical samples, all clinical supplies and linens; routinely remove any expired medical supplies/materials.
Arrive patients, obtain all consents, verify insurance, certifications and referrals. Chart prep/filing/scanning of medical records and/or results. Enter patient data into EMR system and maintain patient database.
Collect patient payments, perform front end billing.
OB/GYN experience for a minimum of 2 years is required.
Certified as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literate and customer service oriented.
EMR experience for a minimum of one year is preferred.
Candidate must have good communication skills and team spirit.
