The Certified Medical Assistant will perform patient care under the physician's/nurse's direct supervision. The candidate will report to the Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Director.
Manage a smooth office flow by assessing and anticipating physician schedules and using clinical space effectively. Manage and track patient flow from arrival until exam room departure using EMR system, including welcoming and informing patients of any delays.
Take patient histories, vital signs and record information in EMR system
Prepare patients for procedures. Included but not limited to biopsies, pap smears, IUD insertion and removal, colposcopies and LEEPs
Perform phlebotomy duties and point-of-care tests such as urinalysis, glucose monitoring and pregnancy tests
Prepare, label and process collected specimens, and ensure timely delivery of specimens to appropriate designation
Maintain appropriate lab logs during sessions. Prepare and maintain medical charts.
Process, sterilize and organize instruments daily. Clean and maintain examination and treatment rooms daily. Manage equipment and supply inventory, including the routine review and removal of expired medical supplies
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
0-1 years of OB/GYN experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
