The following duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist physicians with patient treatments/procedures. Assist physicians with department specific therapies, keeping current on latest treatments. Record patient vital signs in chart and inform/confirm with patient any of the physician recommendations.
Prepare and label specimens with required clinical data; ensure timely delivery of specimens to appropriate designation.
Perform phlebotomy duties for outpatient office and ultrasound patients, as directed.
Clean and maintain exam rooms and utility areas; set up patient rooms daily.
Maintain sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensure adequate supply of equipment is ready at all times for patient care.
Maintain adequate inventory of all clinical supplies and linens; routinely remove any expired medical supplies/materials.
Prepare charts for physicians in advance of office hours. Chart prep/filing/scanning of medical records and/or results.
Arrive patients, obtain all consents, verify insurance, certifications and referralsPrepare referral slips and obtain referral and pre-authorizations.
Collect patient payments, perform front end billing.
Enter patient data into EMR system and maintain patient database. Schedule and confirm patient appointments for both clinical and ultrasound.
Read, route, mail and prepare all outgoing mail.
OB/GYN experience for a minimum of 2 years is required.
Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literate and customer service oriented. EPIC/EMR experience for a minimum of one year is preferred.
