Under the direction of the Medical Director performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation and archiving X-Ray images; responsible for the care of the patient while in the X-Ray area. Responsible administratively to the Practice Manager.
Positions patient and selects appropriate options to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted X-Ray principles and the referring physician’s request.
Judges diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
Performs clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing and archiving of patient records.
Offers detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answers questions as appropriate.
Observes patient while in the X-Ray area for change in status and makes appropriate intervention or contacts primary care givers for instruction.
Supervises and directs other non-technical personnel that may be assigned to the area for which they are responsible.
Operates and maintains equipment on a daily basis maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedules PM, performs QA, maintains records required for and participates in inspections.
Assists physician in administering opaque media.

Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
